Lesson 4: The Psychological “ego”
Primitive Humanity
- Many years ago, humanity lived in a heavenly state, people were pure and innocent because the “ego” did not yet exist.
- Gradually, people stopped obeying the Spiritual Masters and began to commit various abuses which led to the creation of the “ego”.
- Repeating the same mistakes, the “ego” trapped more and more of the Essence. Until now humanity has on average 97% “ego” and 3% free Essence.
The “ego” is multiple
- We do not have a single “ego”, but many minor “egos”.
- The various “egos” do not have any coordination or cooperation with each other.
- Every minor “ego” thinks that it is the whole, the master, and tries to take control as often as possible.
- This is the cause of all our psychological conflicts.
The “ego” is additional
”ego” in Ancient Traditions
- In all ancient traditions they taught about the “egos” and their dissolution:
- Christianity: demons
- Buddhism: psychical additions
- Egypt: red demons of Seth
- Hinduism: vices and desires
- Mythology & fairy tales: beasts, monsters, dragons, etc.
The 7 primary “egos”
- “ego” has 7 heads.
- Each head has under itself, a legion of many minor “egos”.
- Also, two defects associated with all the “egos” are: Lie and Fear.
- Each “ego” is an autonomous entity that operates independently of our will.
- The human personality is just a puppet driven by the various “egos”.
Creation and food of the “ego”
- An “ego” is created when we identify with a situation.
- It feeds on our energy every time it takes control and manifests itself.
- It can be manifested through: (1) thoughts, (2) emotions, (3) the body (movements, words, gaze, posture, etc.)
The Virtues of the Soul
The Psychological Death
- In order to dissolve an “ego”, there are always 3 steps:
1. To Discover it using Self-Observation.
2. To Understand it.
- Initially, we need to study the “ego” and analyze it:
- When and how did we create it?
- Where, when and with which persons is it most expressed?
- With what other “egos” does it appear together?
- When it gains control, what makes us do, say, feel or think?
- How do we feed it?
- To understand an “ego” means to realize:
- It is harmful for us.
- Makes us suffer.
- Makes the others suffer.
- It is harmful both physically and psychologically.
- How it makes us appear to others.
- Without it, we would be more free and more happy.
- Understanding, frees the trapped Essence from the “ego”.
3. To Dissolve it.
- Once we have understood the “ego” and released the Essence that was trapped, we must dissolve the “shell” that remains.
- We cannot dissolve “ego” using the mind, we need a superior force.
- Inside our body we have a sexual bio-electromagnetic energy that can dissolve the “ego” we have understood.
- This energy is an expression of our Divine Mother in our physical body.
