Lesson 17: The Four Ways
The 7 Types of Man
- For someone to become type #4, he/she has to do a conscious work.
- People #4 do not identify with one centre.
The Way of the Fakir
- Is the way of the Will.
- Is addressed at people type #1.
- Fakir tries to subdue his physical body through voluntary suffering.
- Overcoming the needs of the physical body, the fakir develops great willpower.
- But in this way he can not crystallize the Body of Conscious Will (Solar Causal Body).
The Way of the Monk
- Is the way of the Heart.
- Is addressed at people type #2.
- The monk tries to subdue his desires and passions through prayer, fasting, obedience, rituals, etc.
- Overcoming the inferior emotions, the monk develops the Superior emotional center.
- But he can not, in this way, crystallize the body of superior emotions (Solar Astral Body).
The Way of the Yogi
- Is the way of the Mind.
- Is addressed at people type #3.
- Yogi tries to subdue his mind and thoughts through meditation, internal exercises, etc.
- Disciplining his mind, Yogi develops the superior intellectual center.
- But he can not, in this way, crystallize the Solar Mental Body.
The Fourth Way
- Is the way of Balance.
- In this Way we work on the body, the emotions and the mind at the same time.
- Learning to live properly we experience the Fakir Way.
- Through prayer, invocations, mantras, etc. we experience the Monk Way.
- Through meditation and inner practices we experience the Yogi Way.
- In the Fourth Way we study two sciences in depth: Alchemy and Kabbalah.
- Knowing the science of Alchemy in the Fourth Way we can create the Solar Bodies and reach Self-Realization.
- This Way is the fastest because it is based on the development of understanding.
- In the Fourth Way we must do nothing if we do not understand it.
- The simultaneous work on all centers (mental, emotional, kinetic) enables us to develop understanding to the maximum.
Meditation on the Death of the Ego
In the Fourth Way, we take advantage of socializing with others to discover and eliminate the “ego” since it cannot hide and it comes out spontaneously.
In order to benefit we must:
- Be in a state of self-observation in order to see the ‘ego’.
- At night (or whenever we can) we must meditate on the ‘ego’ that we observed during the day.
ASANA (Body Posture)
- We can use any posture for our meditation.
- Our spine should be straight and your feet firmly on the floor.
- We should try not to move the body at all until the end of the practice.
RELAXATION
- Then, we must relax the three brains: Kinetic (physical body), Emotional, Intellectual.
- We can also have some external aids:
- Meditation music or classical music.
- Fragrances, essential oils or incense.
- A lighted candle nearby, because fire represents the Spirit.
RETROSPECTION
- We take a look back at the day (as we learned in Lesson 7).
- The purpose is to recognize the events of that day in which we identified with some psychological defect.
- We choose an event in which the ego that we want to work on, manifested.
ANALYSIS
- We use the intellect in a conscious way (without subtracting or guessing), concentrated in our work, we do a mental analysis in order to discover and realize some aspects and behaviors of the ego, such as:
UNDERSTANDING
- We are entering a deeper phase in which we no longer work with the mind, we use the Consciousness.
- Understanding the ego means understanding the damage it causes us, our lives, our bodies, our Consciousness and our fellow human beings.
JUDGEMENT
- Then, we have to judge, to make accusations against the psychological defect we are working with.
- We put the defect in the seat of the accused and we invoke a part of our Being, the Internal KAOM.
- We bring to justice all the damage it has caused.
- If the practice has been done correctly, at this point we should feel a sincere and strong repentance.
ELIMINATION
- We invoke with our heart and in simple words our personal Divine Mother, Devi Kundalini.
- We ask in simple words from our Divine Mother to dissolve this ego that we have understood.
- We can envision the Divine Mother that burns the “ego” with her spear.
- Then, from these ashes, the Divine Mother gathers a beautiful baby, representation of the Essence.
- This baby-Essence will unite with the Essence-Consciousness that is already free at the level of our heart, thus, increasing the percentage of our free Consciousness.
