Gabriel

also Gavriel, Gavri’el ( Hebrew ) גַבְרִיאֵל from גברי gavri, in the sense of “man-like,” and אל (el, ” God ”). גַבְרִיאֵל means “strong man of God .” An important angel in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. One of the seven primary intelligences of our solar system.

“And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.” - Daniel 8:15-16

“And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God …” - Luke 1:19

“Gabriel, as a Regent of the Moon, is one of the planetary Genii. Yet, the Intimate Gabriel is something distinct. He is one of the autonomous and cognizant parts of our own Being. The Intimate Gabriel governs our own psychological Moon. The psychological Moon also has two faces, the visible and the hidden. All of our psychological defects, visible to simple sight are in the visible part of the Psychological Moon. However, the secret defects are found in the hidden part of our own Psychological Moon. It is obvious that defects, psychic aggregates and perversities that we do not even remotely suspect, exist in the hidden part of our own Psychological Moon.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Pistis Sophia Unveiled

Garima

(Sanskrit) One of the eight major powers (siddhis).

“The power to willingly increase the weight of the physical body to that of a mountain.” - The Aquarian Message “This is the opposite of Laghima. “The Gayatri itself is the crest-jewel or the king of all Mantras. It is the most powerful of all Mantras. Na gayatryah paro mantrah— ”There is no Mantra greater than the Gayatri”. —Swami Sivananda

Gayatri has many implicit meanings, such as “protection for the one who sings” and in regard to the components of the word, examples such as gaya (vital energies) and trayate (deliver, liberate, preserve). Gayatri is also name of the Divine Mother, the embodiment of the mantra, and the feminine aspect of Brahma (the First Logos, the Father, Kether , the Dharmakaya).

At times they live in comfort and at times they have to endure much misery. They are very intelligent and become irritated easily. The defect of those born under Gemini is that they want to solve all matters with their head; they always want to silence the wise voice of the heart and this creates all kinds of problems for them.” - Samael Aun Weor, Manual of Practical Magic

“…the genius lucis… is the Odic or magnetic force with which the animal ego is converted into cosmic dust. We must learn how to utilize the genius lucis in order to eliminate the “I.” The genius lucis of man and woman can eliminate all of those entities that form the “I,” the “myself,” because it is the weapon used in order to destroy the ego .” - Samael Aun Weor, Tarot and Kabbalah

Gentile

Latin gentilis, “of the same family or clan,” in Medieval Latin “of noble or good birth,” from gens (genitive gentis) “race, clan.” “Blessed be the גוי Goy (gentile) whose Elohim is יהוה Yod-Havah, the selected people (the Neshamoth Chayim) for his (חיה Chaiah, his) own inheritance.” —Psalm 33:12

Giborim

( Hebrew גברים) Literally, “heroes, mighty ones, valiant ones” but this must be understood in context, since the word can refer to actual heroes (related to the sephirah Geburah ), or to those who have fallen from that state. “There were נפלים Nephilim [“giants,” another type of fallen angel] in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God [angels, bodhisattvas ] came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] גברים [Giborim, “mighty men”] which [were] of old, men of renown. And God saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.” - Genesis 6 The Zohar describes five types of fallen angels; one of them are called Giborim who “built organizations, colleges, and founded oracles and temples, not for the worship and glory of the Holy One, but for their own self-exaltation, and then tyrannized over [the archetypes of] Israel as though they were dust of the earth, by plundering and robbing them of every thing they possessed.” Learn more about the Zohar: Fallen Angels .

Gilgul

Hebrew גלגול “wheel, cycle.” Plural: גלגולים‎ gilgulim. Gimel

The third letter of the Hebrew alphabet, it symbolizes the Inner Man ” Chesed ” bestowing through Neshamah his will, his teachings, upon the Human Soul. Its Kabbalistic value is 3.

Glorian

The deepest, most sublime heights of our inner Being.

“Our [inner] Father is, first of all, a flame of burning fire, and all flames are susceptible to the fiery expansion and development, unfoldment, evolution, and independence of each of its sparks. Perform an experiment with any flame and you will see that the flame can spread everywhere, and that each of its sparks can become an independent flame. Now, take this example to the aurora of the Mahamanvantara, and you will comprehend how your celestial Fathers engendered you. Now, if you consider that each spark is associated with its own ray of light, you will then comprehend the relationship of the sparks to the light, and the relationship of our divine spark with the ray of Absolute Light to which we belong. That ray of Absolute Light is our Glorian. Our “Glorian” is a breath, profoundly unknowable unto itself; our “Glorian” is a breath of the Absolute.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Zodiacal Course (1951)

“In reality, the Glorian is nothing but the Ray from which the Innermost (Spirit) emanated. Thus, the Glorian is substance, yet it is not Spirit, neither matter. The Glorian is the Great Breath that is profoundly unknowable to itself. It is a breath from the Absolute, one of the many breaths from the Great breath. The Glorian is the “Atmic Thread” of the Hindus. It is the Absolute within us, our own individual ray, the whole of our Real Being made in glory. The soul aspires for the union with his Innermost, and the Innermost aspires for the union with his Glorian.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of Beelzebub

Gluttony

One of the seven capital sins. Must be transmuted into its pure form: temperance, which is related to Saturn (Orifiel).

Gnomes, Spirits of Earth

A term from Paracelsus perhaps derived from Greek genomos, “earth-dweller” Gnomes are elemental intelligences related to the dense, fixed aspect of nature (earth).

“Just as visible Nature is populated by an infinite number of living creatures, so, according to Paracelsus, the invisible, spiritual counterpart of visible Nature (composed of the tenuous principles of the visible elements) is inhabited by a host of peculiar beings, to whom he has given the name elementals, and which have later been termed the Nature spirits. Paracelsus divided these people of the elements into four distinct groups, which he called gnomes , undines , sylphs , and salamanders . He taught that they were really living entities, many resembling human beings in shape, and inhabiting worlds of their own, unknown to man because his undeveloped senses were incapable of functioning beyond the limitations of the grosser elements… “The elementals who dwell in that attenuated body of the earth which is called the terreous ether are grouped together under the general heading of gnomes . (The name is probably derived from the Greek genomus , meaning earth dweller. See New English Dictionary .) Just as there are many types of human beings evolving through the objective physical elements of Nature, so there are many types of gnomes evolving through the subjective ethereal body of Nature. These earth spirits work in an element so close in vibratory rate to the material earth that they have immense power over its rocks and flora, and also over the mineral elements in the animal and human kingdoms. Some, like the pygmies, work with the stones, gems, and metals, and are supposed to be the guardians of hidden treasures. They live in caves, far down in what the Scandinavians called the Land of the Nibelungen. In Wagner’s wonderful opera cycle, The Ring of the Nibelungen , Alberich makes himself King of the Pygmies and forces these little creatures to gather for him the treasures concealed beneath the surface of the earth. Besides the pygmies there are other gnomes, who are called tree and forest sprites. To this group belong the sylvestres, satyrs, pans, dryads, hamadryads, durdalis, elves, brownies, and little old men of the woods. Paracelsus states that the gnomes build houses of substances resembling in their constituencies alabaster, marble, and cement, but the true nature of these materials is unknown, having no counterpart in physical nature. Some families of gnomes gather in communities, while others are indigenous to the substances with and in which they work. For example, the hamadryads live and die with the plants or trees of which they are a part. Every shrub and flower is said to have its own Nature spirit, which often uses the physical body of the plant as its habitation. The ancient philosophers, recognizing the principle of intelligence manifesting itself in every department of Nature alike, believed that the quality of natural selection exhibited by creatures not possessing organized mentalities expressed in reality the decisions of the Nature spirits themselves. C. M. Gayley, in The Classic Myths , says: “It was a pleasing trait in the old paganism that it loved to trace in every operation of nature the agency of deity. The imagination of the Greeks peopled the regions of earth and sea with divinities, to whose agency it attributed the phenomena that our philosophy ascribes to the operation of natural law.” Thus, in behalf of the plant it worked with, the elemental accepted and rejected food elements, deposited coloring matter therein, preserved and protected the seed, and performed many other beneficent offices. Each species was served by a different but appropriate type of Nature spirit. Those working with poisonous shrubs, for example, were offensive in their appearance. It is said the Nature spirits of poison hemlock resemble closely tiny human skeletons, thinly covered with a semi-transparent flesh. They live in and through the hemlock, and if it be cut down remain with the broken shoots until both die, but while there is the slightest evidence of life in the shrub it shows the presence of the elemental guardian. Great trees also have their Nature spirits, but these are much larger than the elementals of smaller plants. The labors of the pygmies include the cutting of the crystals in the rocks and the development of veins of ore. When the gnomes are laboring with animals or human beings, their work is confined to the tissues corresponding with their own natures. Hence they work with the bones, which belong to the mineral kingdom, and the ancients believed the reconstruction of broken members to be impossible without the cooperation of the elementals. The gnomes are of various sizes—most of them much smaller than human beings, though some of them have the power of changing their stature at will. This is the result of the extreme mobility of the element in which they function. Concerning them the Abbé de Villars wrote: “The earth is filled well nigh to its center with Gnomes, people of slight stature, who are the guardians of treasures, minerals and precious stones. They are ingenious, friends of man, and easy to govern.” Not all authorities agree concerning the amiable disposition of the gnomes. Many state that they are of a tricky and malicious nature, difficult to manage, and treacherous. Writers agree, however, that when their confidence is won they are faithful and true. The philosophers and initiates of the ancient world were instructed concerning these mysterious little people and were taught how to communicate with them and gain their cooperation in undertakings of importance. The magi were always warned, however, never to betray the trust of the elementals, for if they did, the invisible creatures, working through the subjective nature of man, could cause them endless sorrow and probably ultimate destruction. So long as the mystic served others, the gnomes would serve him, but if he sought to use their aid selfishly to gain temporal power they would turn upon him with unrelenting fury. The same was true if he sought to deceive them. The earth spirits meet at certain times of the year in great conclaves, as Shakespeare suggests in his Midsummer Night’s Dream, where the elementals all gather to rejoice in the beauty and harmony of Nature and the prospects of an excellent harvest. The gnomes are ruled over by a king, whom they greatly love and revere. His name is Gob ; hence his subjects are often called goblins. Mediæval mystics gave a corner of creation (one of the cardinal points) to each of the four kingdoms of Nature spirits, and because of their earthy character the gnomes were assigned to the North—the place recognized by the ancients as the source of darkness and death. One of the four main divisions of human disposition was also assigned to the gnomes, and because so many of them dwelt in the darkness of caves and the gloom of forests their temperament was said to be melancholy, gloomy, and despondent. By this it is not meant that they themselves are of such disposition, but rather that they have special control over elements of similar consistency. The gnomes marry and have families, and the female gnomes are called gnomides . Some wear clothing woven of the element in which they live. In other instances their garments are part of themselves and grow with them, like the fur of animals. The gnomes are said to have insatiable appetites, and to spend a great part of the rime eating, but they earn their food by diligent and conscientious labor. Most of them are of a miserly temperament, fond of storing things away in secret places. There is abundant evidence of the fact that small children often see the gnomes, inasmuch as their contact with the material side of Nature is not yet complete and they still function more or less consciously in the invisible worlds. According to Paracelsus, “Man lives in the exterior elements and the Elementals live in the interior elements. The latter have dwellings and clothing, manners and customs, languages and governments of their own, in the same sense as the bees have their queens and herds of animals their leaders.” ( Philosophia Occulta , translated by Franz Hartmann.) Paracelsus differs somewhat from the Greek mystics concerning the environmental limitations imposed on the Nature spirits. The Swiss philosopher constitutes them of subtle invisible ethers. According to this hypothesis they would be visible only at certain times and only to those en rapport with their ethereal vibrations. The Greeks, on the other hand, apparently believed that many Nature spirits had material constitutions capable of functioning in the physical world. Often the recollection of a dream is so vivid that, upon awakening, a person actually believes that he has passed through a physical experience. The difficulty of accurately judging as to the end of physical sight and the beginning of ethereal vision may account for these differences of opinion. Even this explanation, however, does not satisfactorily account for the satyr which, according to St. Jerome, was captured alive during the reign of Constantine and exhibited to the people. It was of human form with the horns and feet of a goat. After its death it was preserved in salt and taken to the Emperor that he might testify to its reality. (It is within the bounds of probability that this curiosity was what modern science knows as a monstrosity .)” —Manly P. Hall, Secret Teachings of All Ages

“The four elements of Nature—earth, fire, water, and air—are merely condensations of the four types of ether. These four varieties of ether are densely populated by innumerable elemental creatures of Nature. The salamanders live within the fire (the Tejas Tattva). The ondines and nereids live within the water (the Apas Tattva). The sylphs live within the clouds (the Vayu Tattva). The gnomes and pygmies live within the earth (the Prithvi Tattva)… The physical bodies of the gnomes are the elementals of the plants under the influence of the zodiacal signs of earth.” —Samael Aun Weor, Esoteric Medicine and Practical Magic

Gnosis

(Greek γνώσις) Knowledge.

The word Gnosis refers to the knowledge we acquire through our own experience, as opposed to knowledge that we are told or believe in. Gnosis - by whatever name in history or culture - is conscious, experiential knowledge, not merely intellectual or conceptual knowledge, belief, or theory. This term is synonymous with the Hebrew ” Daath ” and the Sanskrit “jna.”

The tradition that embodies the core wisdom or knowledge of humanity.

” Gnosis is the flame from which all religions sprouted, because in its depth Gnosis is religion. The word “religion” comes from the Latin word “religare,” which implies “to link the Soul to God ”; so Gnosis is the very pure flame from where all religions sprout, because Gnosis is Knowledge, Gnosis is Wisdom.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Esoteric Path “The secret science of the Sufis and of the Whirling Dervishes is within Gnosis . The secret doctrine of Buddhism and of Taoism is within Gnosis . The sacred magic of the Nordics is within Gnosis . The wisdom of Hermes, Buddha, Confucius, Mohammed and Quetzalcoatl, etc., etc., is within Gnosis . Gnosis is the Doctrine of Christ.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of Beelzebub

Gnostic Church

(Greek) From γνῶσις, knowledge, and ἐκκλησία, assembly. Thus, strictly defined, the Gnostic Church is a body or gathering of knowledge. The Gnostic Church is the repository of the greatest knowledge in the universe. The Gnostic Church is comprised of all the perfect beings in existence, who are called gods, angels, buddhas, masters, etc. The Gnostic Church is not a physical entity, but exists in the internal worlds in the superior dimensions. The Gnostic Church utilizes whatever means are appropriate in the physical world in order to aid the elevation of humanity out of suffering. Throughout time, we have known that aid through the various religions, philosophies, teachers, etc. For a complete explanation of the Gnostic Church, study the online course The Sacraments of the Gnostic Church . “In this course, we are going to explain the sacraments instituted since ancient times in the church of Christ, which has its latest roots in Egypt. Internally, the Holy Gnostic Church is situated in the superior dimensions. Yet, in this day and age, the Holy Gnostic Church has in the physical world a physical exponent in every Lumisial of our visible and invisible Gnostic organisations that form the gigantic Gnostic Movement. The Gnostic Church was instituted by the Master Jesus two thousand years ago in the Middle East, but is a church that has a history much longer than that. It is related with the mysteries of ancient Egypt that has its roots in Atlantis, which come from a Neptunian-Amentian epoch directly related with the World of Yesod , the fourth dimension and beyond. As you know, Gnosis comes from a Greek word for knowledge, and this doctrine of knowledge is related with the famous Tree of Knowledge of the book of Genesis…” - The Sacraments of the Gnostic Church

Gnostic Movement

The Gnostic movement is not one group in the physical world. Instead, it is consisted of anyone, anywhere, in every religion, who is doing the real work.

…the true supreme headquarters of our Gnostic movement is in Shambhala (eastern Tibet). —Samael Aun Weor, The Major Mysteries The Universal Christian Gnostic Movement is non-sectarian. The Gnostic movement is made up of the Army of World Salvation, of all spiritual schools, of all lodges, religions, and sects… Practice what you will, study in any school that you like. Pray in the temple that pleases you the most, but practice Sexual Magic. Live the Path of the Perfect Matrimony. We are not against any holy religion, school, order or sect. All of these sacred institutions are necessary. Nevertheless, we advise you to live the path of the Perfect Matrimony. The Perfect Matrimony is not opposed to any religious way of life or to the esoteric practices of Holy Yoga. The Gnostic movement is made up of people from all religions, schools, lodges, sects, orders, etc. —Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

The Gnostic movement is not one group. Instead, it is consisted of anyone, anywhere, in every religion, who is doing the real work.

God

“All nations have their first God , or gods, as androgynous; it could not be in any other way, since they used to consider their distant primal ancestors, their double-sex forefathers, as divine beings and holy gods, just as the Chinese do today. Indeed, the artificial conception of an anthropomorphic Jehova who is exclusivist, independent of his own work, sitting up there on a throne of tyranny and despotism, throwing lightning and thunder against this miserable human ant hill, is the outcome of ignorance, mere intellectual idolatry. This erroneous conception of the truth has unfortunately taken possession of both the western philosopher and the religious person who is affiliated to any of those sects that are completely lacking the Gnostic elements. What the Gnostics of all times have rejected is not the unknown God , one and always present in Nature, or Nature in abscondito, but the God of the orthodox dogma, the horrific vengeful deity of the law of Talion (“an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”). The Absolute Abstract Space, the Unknowable God , is neither a limitless void nor a conditioned fullness, but both things in unison. The Gnostic esotericist understands that revelation comes from divine beings, from manifested lives, but never from the one life not manifestable. The Unknowable Seity is the Absolute Abstract Space, the rootless root of all that has been, is, or shall be.” —Samael Aun Weor, The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac

“The love that all mystic institutions of the world feel for the divine is noticeable: for Allah, Brahma, Tao, Zen, I.A.O., INRI, God , etc. Religious esotericism does not teach atheism of any kind, except in the sense that the Sanskrit word nastika encloses: no admission of idols, including that anthropomorphic God of the ignorant populace. It would be an absurdity to believe in a celestial dictator who is seated upon a throne of tyranny and throws lightning and thunderbolts against this sad human ant hill. Esotericism admits the existence of a Logos, or a collective Creator of the universe, a Demiurge architect. It is unquestionable that such a Demiurge is not a personal deity as many mistakenly suppose, but rather a host of Dhyan Chohans, Angels, Archangels, and other forces. God is Gods. It is written with characters of fire in the resplendent book of life that God is the Army of the Voice, the great Word, the Verb. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God , and the Word was God . All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:1-3) For this reason, it is evident that any authentic human being who really achieves perfection enters into the Current of Sound, into the Celestial Army constituted by the Buddhas of Compassion, Angels, Planetary Spirits, Elohim, Rishi- Prajapatis, etc. It has been said to us that the Logos sounds and this is obvious. The Demiurge, the Verb, is the multiple, perfect unity. Whosoever adores the Gods, whosoever surrenders worship unto them, is more capable of capturing the deep significance of the diverse divine facets of the Demiurge architect. When humanity began to mock the Holy Gods, then it fell mortally wounded into the gross materialism of this Iron Age.” —Samael Aun Weor, The Three Mountains

The perfect, intelligent, impersonal, ineffable, and unrevealed multiplied unity or entity that nobody has seen, but whose strength, creative potential, has been molded in the perennial rhythm of creation.

“If when you address “ God ” you mean that puppet painted by some dead sects? That puppet has no existence. That puppet is created by our misleading fantasy … It is better if we think of the manifested unity, which is the Army of the Word; you yourself are part of that Army of the Word — better said, the superior part of your self in the Tree of Life , the Kether of the Hebrew Kabbalah , an igneous and divine particle, is therefore a fragment of the great manifested unity, which is not an individual and who has no head or feet, but is an ocean, essential with space, life, free in its movement. In turn, that manifested unity comes from the unmanifested unity. The unmanifested is endless! Can you find an end to space? For it is the same space. Where can you mark an end to space? Therefore, if we think this way, we will understand better. Because if you talk to me about a God in the sky, a gentleman with a long beard that reaches his navel, seated on a throne of tyranny, throwing thunderbolts against all of this wretched human anthill — well, frankly, I do not accept it. Indeed, in relation to that puppet, you could ask, “Who made this puppet?” Well, of course, when one comes to know a tyrant puppet like that, one has to grab it from his beard, right? But that puppet does not exist. That is a misleading fantasy. We must begin to understand that in the depths, there in the most profound depths of our being, we are just particles of the great ocean of universal life, and that is all. So, this is how we must understand God , in that manner and not in an anthropomorphic way. Anthropomorphism has caused a lot of damage. Many Russians, those Russian astronauts precisely, when they got to space in their famous rockets, the famous Russian rockets, they said: “Where is God , we have not found him anywhere here.” Why? Because humanity was taught idolatry. Humans were taught that God is a gentleman up there in the sky, seated on the throne of tyranny. So, that is misleading, that is false…” —Samael Aun Weor, Alchemical Symbolism of the Nativity of Christ

“Certainly, Elohim is translated as “ God ” in the various authorized and revised versions of the Bible. Not only from the esoteric point of view, but also linguistically, it is an incontrovertible fact that the term Elohim is a feminine noun with a plural masculine ending. The correct translation of the noun Elohim in its strict sense is “goddesses and gods.” —Samael Aun Weor, The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac

Goddess

The feminine, receptive force through which creation occurs, symbolized in many religions by figures such as Isis, Mary, Maya, Tara, Isobertha, Rhea, Cybele, Gaea, etc. The formless-force-matter symbolizing Nature, whose conception and childbirth reveals the fertility of Nature. In Hebrew , Eloah, the feminine counterpart of El, whose union produces Elohim.

“Eloah [The Goddess’] generations of the heavens and of the earth when in her [the letter ’ Hei ’] were created, in the day that Iod - Hei Vav - Hei Elohim made the earth and the heavens.” - Genesis / Bereshit 2:4

“By the breath (or, soul) of Eloha they perish…” - Job / Iyov 4:9

”…I would behold the goddess (Eloah) while still in my flesh.” - Job / Iyov 19:26

Gods

The independent intelligent wills that manifest the creative or destructive power of the Unknowable Multiple Divine Unity. “Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken…” - John 10:34-35

Goeteia

(Greek γοητεία goēteia “sorcery”) Also called goetia. A term primarily known in English largely from the seventeenth century book The Lesser Key of Solomon, in which its Ars Goetia describes the evocation of seventy-two demons . The book was popularized by Aleister Crowley in 1904 as “The Book of the Goetia of Solomon the King.”

Goeteia is a science of black magic (magic comes from magi, priest). Magic is the science of influencing nature’s phenomena, both internal and external. The practitioner of goeteia uses ritual and energy in conjunction with lower beings in nature to manipulate, harm, gain power, control, and indulge in sensations through intentionally feeding desire. It is easy to see the results of such techniques by observing the degeneration of its enthusiasts. “Goeteia teaches us how to invoke the purely tenebrous entities. Goeteia’s invokers are enslaved by the powers of evil.” - Samael Aun Weor, Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy

“Frankly, Spiritism (with its mediums) would have been useless to us, since we wanted to see, touch, and feel all the entities that are mentioned in the Conjuration of Solomon the sage! Likewise, for us Goeteia’s circle of pacts and black evocations would have also been useless, since none of us wanted to fall into the abyss of black magic. Therefore, only High Theurgy could help us resolve all of these problems.” - Samael Aun Weor, Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy

Gold

An Alchemical symbol with levels of meaning. Spiritual Gold is Sacred Fire which must be made to rise through the 2 cords or nervous channels Ida and Pingala. Volatile Gold is the fire of Kundalini , otherwise known as “perfect medicine.” This form has an affinity with Mercury: both are perfect and incorruptible. Gold becomes perfect Mercury. Dead Gold is useless and must be reduced it to it”s female state (crude matter) to be reborn by a process of regeneration. (For more information about these terms, study Treatise of Sexual Alchemy ).

Golden Age

In all ancient mystical traditions, time is considered in four or five ages or periods, beginning with the purest and gradually declining into the final, darkest age, after which there is death of all impurity so that the cycle can begin anew. The golden age is the earliest, a time of beauty, innocence, simplicity, and pristine happiness. In the Bible, this is represented by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden before the fall into sin.

“The four Ages of the Greek mystics — the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age — are metaphoric expressions referring to the four major periods in the life of all things. In the divisions of the day they signify dawn, midday, sunset, and midnight; in the duration of gods, men, and universes, they denote the periods of birth, growth, maturity, and decay. The Greek Ages also bear a close correspondence to the four Yugas of the Hindus: Krita-Yuga, Treta-Yuga, Dvapara-Yuga, and Kali-Yuga.” —Manly P. Hall, The Secret Teachings of All Ages

“A golden age is an age of innocence, beauty, and goodness, of love, fraternity, brotherhood among people without ego .” —Samael Aun Weor

Golgotha

Aramaic, literally “pile of skulls.” Hebrew גלגלת (Num 1:2; Ch1 23:3, Ch1 23:24; Kg2 9:35). Also called Calvary from Latin calva “bald head” or “skull.” A skull-shaped hill in Jerusalem, the site of Jesus’ Crucifixion. “And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull…” - Mat 27:33, Mar 15:22, Jhn 19:17 Golgotha is an esoteric symbol related to the death of the psychological I. “With this [sexual] cross, we need to advance on the path that will conduct us to the Golgotha of the Father.” - Samael Aun Weor, Christ and the Virgin “We have to raise the igneous serpent of our magical powers up to the Golgotha of the Father (the brain).” - Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony “All of the vehicles of the initiate must be crucified and stigmatized in the Golgotha of supreme sacrifice. The Golgotha of the Father is the brain. We must rise to the Golgotha with the cross on our back.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Aquarian Message “When the initiate has made the Kundalini of his Astral body arrive at the heart, then in the internal worlds he experiences the symbolic death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Then, in the internal worlds, the initiate lives out the whole drama of Golgotha in his Astral body … Our Astral body is transformed into a living Nazarene, filled with power and glory when we experience the event of Golgotha in the Astral body .” - Samael Aun Weor, The Seven Words “Understand that there are Seven Serpents of Fire and Seven Serpents of Light. The ascension of each one of the Serpents of Light is a very arduous and difficult task… these are the seven eternal Calvaries… [The seven serpents of light] are the seven terribly divine Golgothas…” - Samael Aun Weor, The Major Mysteries

Gomorrah

Hebrew עמרה. In the Bible, a city destroyed by divinity because of sexual impurity.

“And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and עמרה [Gomorrah] is great, and because their sin is very grievous… Then יהוה rained upon Sodom and upon עמרה [Gomorrah] brimstone and fire from יהוה out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.” —Genesis 18-19

The word עמרה [Gomorrah] is related to העמר HaOmer, a kabbalistic symbol related to the harvest of the sexual grain. Read Matzot and the Sephiroth of the HaOmer .

Good and Evil

In Hebrew , the two sides of the Tree of Knowledge ( Daath ), written as Tob [טוב] and Ra [רע]. More accurately, טוב means “goodness” and רע means “impurity.”

“In pure esotericism, good is all that is in its place; bad is all that is out of its place. Likewise, fire in the kitchen, when in its place, besides being useful, is good. Yet, the fire out of its place, burning the furniture of the living room, would be bad and harmful. Thus, any virtue, no matter how holy it might be, is good in its place; yet, it is bad and harmful out of its place. We can harm others with our virtues. Therefore, it is indispensable to place virtues in their corresponding place. What would you say about a priest who preaches the Word of the Lord inside a brothel? What would you say about a meek and tolerant male who blesses a gang of assailants attempting to rape his wife and daughters? What would you say about that type of tolerance taken to such an extreme? What would you say about the charitable attitude of a man who, instead of taking food home, shares his money among beggars who have a vice? What would be your opinion of a helpful man who in a given moment lends a dagger to a murderer? Remember, dear reader, that crime also hides within the rhythm of poetry. There is much virtue in the perverse one and as much evil in the virtuous one. Even though it may appear incredible, crime also hides in the very perfume of prayer.” - Samael Aun Weor, Revolutionary Psychology

Gospel

Quoted from the Online Etymology Dictionary: “O.E. godspel “good news,” from God “good” + spel “story, message,” translation of L. bona adnuntiatio, itself a translation of Gk. euangelion “reward for bringing good news.""

Generally, the term Gospel refers to the first four books of the Christian New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

“The four Gospels can only be understood with the key of Sexual Magic and the Perfect Matrimony. The four Gospels were only written to serve as a guide to the few who follow the path of the razor’s edge. The four Gospels were never written for the multitudes. The work of adapting the cosmic drama to the new age was marvelous. Secret groups of initiates took part in this work. They did a splendid job. When profane people study the Gospels, they misinterpret them.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

Grabontzi

“Some Atlantean survivors searched for refuge on the small continent of Grabontzi (present-day Africa). This continent increased in size and extension because other landmasses (which had surfaced from within neighboring seas) were added onto it.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Kabbalah of the Mayan Mysteries

Green Lion

An alchemical symbol of the Innermost ( Chesed , Atman). Our Internal Angel. Synonymous with the Tincture of Gold and the Divine Crocodile Sebek.

Guardian Angel

“The flaming powers of the Guardian Angel are truly extraordinary, marvelous, and extremely divine. I know what the Guardian Angel is from purely Gnostic sources, secretly kept in monasteries of initiation. These bear no resemblance to common pseudo-Christianity and pseudo-occultism which are accessible to the general public.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac, and Dream Yoga

Guardian of the Threshold

“Theurgy is one thing and Necromancy is another… The internal master of the Theurgist is the Intimate. The internal master of the Necromancer is his Guardian of the Threshold to whom they call the guardian of their Consciousness , the guardian of the precinct, the guardian of their chamber, the guardian of their sanctum… The Intimate is our Divine Spirit, our Real Being, our Internal Angel. The Guardian of the Threshold is the internal depth of our animal “I.” The Intimate is the ardent flame of Horeb. In accordance with Moses, the Intimate is the Ruach Elohim who sowed the waters in the beginning of the world. He is the Sun King, our Divine Monad, the Alter ego of Cicerone. The Guardian of the Threshold is our Satan… our internal beast, the source of all of our animal passions and brutal appetites… The Real Being of the Theurgist is the Intimate. The superior “I” of the Necromancer is the Guardian of the Threshold. The powers of the Intimate are divine. The powers of the Guardian of the Threshold are diabolic. The Theurgist worships the Intimate. The Necromancer worships the Guardian of the Threshold. The Theurgist avails himself with the power of his Intimate in order to perform his great works of practical magic. The Necromancer worships the Guardian of the Threshold for his works of black magic.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of Beelzebub

Gugumatz

An alternative name for Tepeu-Gukumatz. Gugumatz, along with Hurucan, created heaven and earth according the Popol Vuh. See: Tepeu-Gukumatz, Hurucan, and Popol Vuh

Gunas

(Sanskrit) Literally, “fundamental quality.”

“Prakriti is composed of the three Gunas or forces, namely, Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Sattva is harmony or light or wisdom or equilibrium or goodness. Rajas is passion or motion or activity. Tamas is inertia or inaction or darkness. During Cosmic Pralaya these three Gunas exist in a state of equilibrium. During Srishti or projection a vibration arises and the three qualities are manifested in the physical universe.” - Swami Sivananda, Kundalini Yoga “Sattva, Rajas and Tamas (harmony, emotion and inertness) were in a perfect, nirvanic equilibrium before the dawning of the dawn of the Mahamanvantara. The fire put the cosmic scale in motion. Sattva, Rajas and Tamas were unbalanced; therefore, the Mahamanvantara dawned. The yogi must liberate himself from Sattva, Rajas and Tamas to gain the right to enter into the Absolute. Sattva, Rajas and Tamas will be in perfect equilibrium again at the end of the Mahamanvantara; thus, the universe will sleep again within the profound bosom of the Absolute, within the supreme Parabrahman, the In-nominated.” - Samael Aun Weor, Kundalini Yoga : The Mysteries of the Fire

Gupta-Vidya

(Sanskrit) The science of mantras, the magic of the Word; it is based on the mystical powers of sounds, on the science of harmony.

Gurdjieff

(1866-1949) Writer and mystic who spent his early years searching for esoteric knowledge in Eurasia. In his later life he wrote several influential books and traveled throughout the West teaching what he had learned about consciousness and psychology. Although his teachings and guidance were useful during his era to inspire Westerners to question their spiritual ideas, unfortunately many of his students have been unwilling to recognize that he made several criticial mistakes (such as fathering many illegitimate children) that are easily seen with wider study of the teachings, especially those of Jesus, Krishna, and Tibetan Buddhists.

“…many have been bottled up in the literature of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky, and no longer want to get out of there. Thus, they become more Gurdjieffists than Gurdjieff, as if Gurdjieff was the last word. Listen: Gurdjieff is nothing more than a beginner in these studies. The doctrine of Gurdjieff is incipient, completely incipient; if we stay bottled up in it we will never move forward. Keep in mind that now we are going to give you the Pistis Sophia , and that is where we will realize that Gurdjieff is just kindergarten. So do not get stuck in Gurdjieff. He is good for documentation, but not to stay bottled up there. The Gnostic teachings are greater! We are going to study the Pistis Sophia which is the entire body of the doctrine of Jesus of Nazareth, just as he delivered it on the Mount of Olives.” —Samael Aun Weor

Guru Nanak

Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Punjabi: ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ; Hindi: गुरु नानक, Urdu: گرونانک [ˈɡʊɾu ˈnɑnək] Gurū Nānak) (15 April 1469 – 22 September 1539) was the founder of the religion of Sikhism.

“Nanak, the founding Master of the Sikh religion in the sacred land of the Vedas, taught the path of the heart. Nanak taught fraternity among all religions, schools, sects, etc. When we attack all religions or any religion in particular, we commit the crime of violating the law of the heart. In the heart temple, there is a place for all religions, sects, orders, etc. All religions are precious pearls strung on the golden thread of the divinity. Our Gnostic Movement is made up by people of all religions, schools, sects, spiritual societies, etc. In the heart temple there is place for all religions, for all forms of worship. Jesus said, “In loving one another thou shalt prove that thou art my disciples.” The Sikh scriptures, like those of every religion, are truly ineffable.” - Samael Aun Weor

Guru

(Sanskrit गुरु, literally “teacher”) This term can apply to any kind of teacher. Yet, in Gnosis the focus is generally upon the superior or root Guru, which is the Innermost within us, who can lead us to complete liberation.

“Realisation cannot come to you as a miracle done by your Guru. Lord Buddha, Lord Jesus, Rama Tirtha have all done Sadhana. Lord Krishna asks Arjuna to develop Vairagya (dispassion) and Abhyasa (practice). He did not say to him, “I will give you Mukti (liberation) now”. Therefore, abandon the wrong notion that your Guru will give you Samadhi and Mukti. Strive, purify, meditate, and realise.” - Swami Sivananda

“There is a need to search for a guru in order for him to guide us along this internal and delicate way. The guru must be searched for within, in the profundity of the Consciousness … Each disciple must search for the master inside, inside, inside. The master is found in the profundity of our Consciousness . If you want to search for the master, abandon all bookish erudition and pseudo-spiritual schools. The master appears when the disciple is prepared.” - Samael Aun Weor, Igneous Rose

“The majority of the tenebrous brothers and sisters of Aquarius are wicked people who are going around teaching black magic. I know a fallen bodhisattva from Bogotá (Colombia), who formed a sect of imbecilic eunuchs who hate sex. Thus, through this awful way, this wretched brother harms homes and closes the doors of Eden for others. So, in this day and age, it is very dangerous to just simply follow someone. What is best is to seek the Inner Master. The best thing is to follow our “I Am.” The best thing is to learn how to travel in the Astral body in order to visit the temples of the White Lodge and to receive the teachings directly in the temple… This is why we advise our disciples not to follow anyone. Let our disciples follow their own Self. Each of our disciples has to follow their resplendent and luminous Inner Being. Each one has to adore their own “I Am.” We beg, beseech, our disciples not to follow us. We do not want henchmen or followers. We have written this book so that you, our friends, listen to your own Internal Master, your resplendent “I AM.” The Innermost is your master: follow Him. First, take heed that none of the many false Avatars who appear during these times deceive you, for many impostors appear in these times and deceive others. Second, take heed of sexual temptations. Third, do not ever attend spiritual centers; the medium-channelers can easily lead you astray from the path.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Major Mysteries
