Lesson 21: Initiation

PENSUM

  • Explain that the Initiation is our life itself lived wisely.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE TAUGHT

  1. That Initiation starts from our house.

2-That Initiation into the Christic life is the life of the individual who, through the 3 factors of the Revolution of Consciousness, tries to work with himself and this allows him to reach the Christic personality.

PRACTICE CONTINUE WITH THE PREVIOUS PRACTICE

What is Initiation

(See “Alchemy - The Second Birth”, chapter “The 7 Degrees of the Fire Power”) (See “Initiation and the Esoteric Path”, chapter “Initiation”) (See “Initiation and the Esoteric Path”, chapter “The Mysteries of Fire”) (See “The Three Mountains”) (See “The Major Mysteries”)

  • The Inner Initiatic path is a course that leads us gradually to union with our Being, and even further, to Final Liberation.

  • Initiations are given internally as we complete various stages of the path. In each Initiation process, the person must lead a specific path, take an apprenticeship and face certain trials. With each Initiation he conquers, the person: o Comes closer to his Being. o Reaches a higher inner level. o Gains more freedom, love, wisdom, power, happiness, etc.

  • Initiations are something internal that is received from the Being and not from the earthly personality. Therefore, one cannot receive an Initiation from an external person or group. o For example, if we attend a course, or if we pay, etc. This is why one should not say “I have this many Initiations”, etc. since the One who receives the Initiations is not the person, but his Inner Being.

  • When a person accepts and begins to practice the 3 Factors of the Revolution of Consciousness, he begins to walk on the initiatic path. He must accept the Death of the ‘ego. o For example, a person who does not want to work on his defects, even if he knows a lot or holds a very high position in an inner group, cannot become an Initiate. He must accept chastity and transmutation. o For example, a person who has not made a clear decision regarding the management of sexual energy, that is, that he will never lose it again, cannot enter the Initiatic path. He must accept sacrifice towards others. o For example, a person who has no interest in others and carries out the inner work purely for his own benefit, is not suitable for Initiation.

  • Therefore, an Initiate is a person who sees life and all the events that life presents to him as opportunities: o To gain wisdom. o To work on himself. o To help others.

Details

  • During the course of the Minor Mysteries, a person usually does not know which Initiation he is in.
  • Often, a person does not remember the tests that were put to him in the inner worlds.
  • Someone can be given a test up to 3 times.
  • If he fails all 3, he leaves the path.

The Trial of the Guardian of the Threshold

(See “New Year’s Message 1993”) (See “The Good Daemon”, chapter “Mental Dynamics”)

  • This is the first trial presented to a person who has begun to work with the 3 Factors.

  • The Guardian of the Threshold is the representation of all the ugliness and evil that we have within us due to the ‘ego’. The person must face him in a way that shows that he is willing to face what he is. If he is afraid and tries to run away, he fails the test. If he remains calm and steady, he passes the test.

  • The Guardian of the Threshold Test is given on three levels:

    1. Astral
    2. Mental
    3. Causal

The Guardian of the Threshold of the Astral

The Guardian of the Threshold of the Mental

  • Universal and represents the wickedness of the mind of humanity.

The Guardian of the Threshold of the Causal

  • Universal and represents the bad will of humanity.

The Trials of the Elements

(See “New Year’s Message 1993”) (See “The Divine Daimon”, chapter “Mental Dynamics”)

The Trial of Earth

  • The element of Earth is related to material things.
  • In the internal worlds the person can see that he is between two mountains that are closing, or something similar. To pass this test he must remain calm and steady.
  • In the physical world difficulties arise that have to do with material goods, money, property, etc. That is, the person feels trapped. To pass this test he must learn not to identify with material things.
  • In the past this trial was given in the physical world. e.g. in ancient Egypt they put the student in a room where the walls were closing in on him.

The Trial of Water

  • The element Water is related to sexual energy, emotions and life.
  • In the internal worlds, the person may see that he is in a stormy sea, in a rushing river, or something similar. To pass this test, he must remain calm and steady.
  • In the physical, difficulties arise that have to do with passion, lust, life problems, etc. That is, the person will feel like drowning. To pass this trial, he must learn to control his energies and adapt to the various situations of life.
  • In the past this trial was given in the physical world. e.g. in ancient Egypt they made the candidate cross a river with crocodiles.

The Trial of Air

  • The element Air is related to thoughts.
  • In the internal world, the person may see that he is very high and the wind is trying to throw him down, or something similar. To pass this test, he must remain calm and steady.
  • In the physical, difficulties arise that have to do with doubts, insecurities, etc. That is, the person feels like falling. To pass this test, he must learn to control the mind and rely on his solar faith.
  • In the past, this trial was given in the physical. e.g. in ancient Egypt, the candidate had to hold on to a metal ring over a cliff.

The Trial of Fire

  • The element Fire is related to the mind.
  • In the internal worlds, the person may see that he must pass through a fire, or something similar. To pass this test, he must remain calm and steady.
  • In the physical, difficulties arise that have to do with anger, pride, etc. That is, the person feels that he is going to explode. To pass this test, he must learn not to react, but to have understanding and calmness.
  • In the past, this test was given in the physical. e.g. in ancient Egypt, the candidate had to pass through a very narrow corridor with fires on both sides.

7Ray
6Ray
5Will
4Fire
3Air
2Water
1Earth
  • 1st Initiation of Minor Mysteries Relates to the element of Earth.

  • 2nd Initiation of Minor Mysteries Relates to the element of Water.

  • 3rd Initiation of Minor Mysteries Relates to the element of Air.

  • 4th Initiation of Minor Mysteries Relates to the element of Fire.

  • 5th Initiation of Minor Mysteries When a person conquers it, he receives the inner rank of “Cela”, that is, “disciple” or “Hierophant of the Minor Mysteries”. If he is a man, he is given a small sword that symbolizes the will. If she is a woman, she is given a veil that symbolizes the mysteries of Nature (the veil of Isis).

  • 6th Initiation of Minor Mysteries Relates to the ray to which a person belongs. e.g. ray of the Moon, Mercury, Venus, etc. We can see which ray a person belongs to by counting the lines that pass through the middle of their forehead. o e.g. one line means Moon ray, two lines mean Mercury ray, etc.

  • 7h Initiation of Minor Mysteries Also related to the ray to which a person belongs. Related to the Law of Karma and usually involves great pain. The individual goes through situations that need a lot of patience.

  • 9th Initiation of Minor Mysteries The person feels great loneliness internally, as if he is in a desert. When he conquers it, he internally receives the rank of “Master of the Minor Mysteries”, or otherwise “Saint”.

Requirements

  • To pass to the Initiations of the Major Mysteries one must: Have completed the 9 Minor Mysteries. Have created the Solar Bodies, working in Alchemy (as a couple). o A person cannot pass to the Major Mysteries and begin to raise the Serpents of Fire if he does not already have the Solar Bodies, since the lunar bodies would not be able to withstand the energy of the Serpents. o If the person is already married and is working in Alchemy at the same time as the course of the Minor Mysteries, it is possible that when they reach the 9th Initiation of the Minor Mysteries, they will have already created the Solar Bodies and can pass directly to the Major Mysteries. o If the person gets married after finishing the Minor Mysteries, they must first create the Solar Bodies in Alchemy, so that they can then pass to the Major Mysteries. Work in Alchemy (as a couple). o A single person cannot pass to the Major Mysteries. o If he completes the Minor Mysteries he continues to work, transmuting as a single man, killing the ‘ego’, making sacrifices, awakening the Consciousness, developing the inner abilities, etc.

The Process of Initiations

1st Initiation of the Major Mysteries

  • The Serpent of Fire awakens in the physical body and begins its ascent through the spinal column of this body. When it reaches the brain it progresses to the middle eyebrow (3rd eye). Then the person crowns the 1st Initiation of Major Mysteries.
  • This Initiation requires much understanding. It is related to the first phrase of Christ on the cross: “My Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”
  • When this Initiation is completed: The Body of Liberation has been created from the best atoms of the physical body. The Atman (Inner) unites with the Buddhi (Divine Soul) forming the Heavenly Man.

2nd Initiation of the Major Mysteries

  • The Serpent of Fire awakens in the vital body and begins its ascent through the spinal column of this body. When it reaches the brain, it progresses to the middle eyebrow (3rd eye). Then the person crowns the 2nd Initiation of Major Mysteries.
  • In this Initiation many difficulties appear regarding the control of sexual energy. It is related to the second phrase of Christ on the cross: “Today you are with me in paradise.”
  • In this Initiation the Initiate goes through a “prison”.
  • When this Initiation is completed, the vital body has been transformed into the Psychic Body.

3rd Initiation of the Major Mysteries

  • The Serpent of Fire awakens in the astral body and begins its ascent through the spinal column of this body. When it reaches the brain, it progresses to the middle eyebrow (3rd eye) and then to the heart. Then the person crowns the 3rd Initiation of Major Mysteries.
  • In this Initiation, the Initiate experiences the Drama of Christ internally. It is related to the third phrase of Christ on the cross: “Mother, behold your Son. Son, behold your Mother.”
  • When this Initiation is completed, the Astral-Christ is born. The Initiate receives the degree of “Arhat.”

4th Initiation of the Major Mysteries

  • The Serpent of Fire awakens in the mental body and begins its ascent through the spinal column of this body. When it reaches the brain, it progresses to the middle eyebrow (3rd eye) and then to the heart. Then the person crowns the 4th Initiation of Major Mysteries.
  • In this Initiation the Initiate must Christify the mind. It is related to the fourth phrase of Christ on the cross: “My Father, why have you forsaken me?”
  • When this Initiation is completed, the Mental-Christ is born. The Initiate receives the degree of “Buddha”.

5th Initiation of the Major Mysteries

  • The Serpent of Fire awakens in the causal body and begins its ascent through the spinal column of this body. When it reaches the brain, it progresses to the middle eyebrow (3rd eye) and then to the heart. Then the person crowns the 5th Initiation of Major Mysteries.
  • In this Initiation the Initiate must Christify the will. It is related to the fifth phrase of Christ on the cross: “I thirst.”
  • When this Initiation is completed: The Christ-Will is born. The Initiate incarnates his Human Soul (Manas), which has united with the Being (Atman-Buddhi). The Initiate receives the degree of “Master”.
  • In this Initiation the Initiate must choose which path to take: The straight path. o If he chooses the straight path he will continue with his mission and work. o Only the Masters of the straight path can reach the point of incarnating Christ. The spiral path. o If he chooses the spiral path he will go to Nirvana where he will spend many centuries in indescribable bliss and from time to time he will take a physical body to continue paying his Karma.

Initiation of Tiphereth

(See “Tarot and Kabbalah”, chapter “Initiation of Tipheret”)

6th Initiation of the Major Mysteries

7th Initiation of the Major Mysteries

  • If the Being has made this Initiation in the past, the Atmic Serpent is still raised, since it cannot fall. Nevertheless, the Initiate must recapitulate the values of each vertebra.
  • This Initiation is related to the sixth phrase of Christ on the cross: Father, into your hands I commend my Spirit.”

When this Initiation is completed, the Spirit-Christ is born.

The Bridge of Miracles

  • After the First Mountain, the Initiate goes through a period of sexual abstinence. This process is called Brahmacharya.
  • In this process, it is said that the Initiate must “hang Judas on the bridge of miracles.” It is called a “bridge” because it connects the First Mountain with the Second, and because it is a journey that takes place over water, that is, without sexual alchemy. Judas symbolizes passion, which must die so that the Initiate can then continue to work only with love.

Initiation of Job

  • Then comes an 8-year inner journey, in which one must:
    • Evaluate the 8 Initiations.
    • Pay off the Karmanduro. o The Karmanduro is the karma that cannot be paid off with sacrifice, but only with pain. o For this reason, in this journey, the Initiate suffers greatly from various illnesses.

Initiation of Judas

Death and Resurrection

Initiation of Venus (Venusta)

(See “The Necklace of Buddha”, chapter “Initiation of Venus”)

  • The Initiate, having already raised the Serpents of Fire, must give them a higher octave and transform them into Serpents of Light. The Serpents of Fire allow the person to have the necessary structure so that his Inner Being can be incarnated and expressed. The Serpents of Light allow the person to have the necessary structure so that his Inner Christ can be incarnated and expressed. These Initiations are also called “The Mysteries of Faith and Nature.”
Christification of the physical body
  • The Serpent of Light of the physical body is internally related to the Birth of Christ.
Christification of the vital body
Christification of the astral body
Christification of the mental body
Christification of the causal body
Christification of the buddhic body
  • The Serpent of Light of the buddhic body is internally related to certain parts of the cosmic drama that have to do with other planets in our solar system, but unfortunately they were not written in the Four Gospels.
Christification of the atmic body

The Second Mountain

(See “The Three Mountains”) (See “Tarot and Kabbalah”, part 2, chapter “Arcana 5”)

  • Also called “The Mountain of Resurrection”.
  • The Serpents of Light allow the Initiate to have the necessary structure for the Inner Christ to incarnate and work in the various hells to purify them.
    • The Inner Christ is Hercules, who must perform the 12 labors.
    • On the Second Mountain he must perform the first 9 labors, and on the Third Mountain the remaining 3.

Practice: Rune THORN

  • At the end of this lesson we suggest teaching the Rune THORN.
  • This Rune means “Thorn”, is related to the crown of thorns of Christ and represents the Conscious Will.
  • The purpose of this exercise is to acquire a strong will in order to do the Work.

Suggested Practice with Mantra ONRO

  • At the end of the lesson we will do the Rune THORN and a guided practice:
    • First we all do the Rune THORN together, vocalizing the mantras TI-TE-TO-TU-TA three times and then doing the mantra THORN 7 times.
    • Then we sit and take a few deep breaths, relax, empty the mind, etc.
    • We concentrate on the heart, we invoke our Being, our Divine Mother and the Venerable Masters of the White Lodge and we ask them to fill our heart with strength, courage, inner drive and rebelliousness.
    • We vocalize the mantra “ONRO” 19 times, visualizing that our heart is like a very bright Sun that radiates throughout our body.
    • We remain in silence and peace for a while.
    • We give thanks.
    • The practice will last approximately 25-30 minutes (without the Rune).

Death, Awakening and Initiation

(See “Initiation and the Esoteric Path”, chapter 1) (See “Alchemy”, chapter 13)

  • Death, Awakening and Initiation are closely related to each other, but they are three different things.
  • In order to achieve Self-Realization, one needs to work with all three.
